Welcome to the window of Gawler’s future.
Gawler Connect is our biggest local community infrastructure project. Gawler Connect will be the catalyst for the Gawler CBD to once again be the Cultural and Business Centre for the Greater Gawler Region.
Gawler Connect will showcase local and regional cultural heritage, provide support to start-up and existing businesses, be a regional centre for visual and performing arts and include an expanded new-age library and digital hub to facilitate 21st century learning and community wellbeing.
Architectural concept plans have been endorsed by Council and the project is a key objective of Council’s Community Plan.
The endorsed plans are a wonderful blend of community ideas that have been drawn together through the mind’s eye of the project architects.
From local artists, to young people, senior citizens, community groups, service clubs, library groups, the business community… Gawler Connect promises to provide something for absolutely everyone.

Community Information Session
The Gawler Connect Community Information Session was held on Wednesday 9 December 2015, in the Gawler Institute.
The Session was an opportunity for the community to meet the internationally awarded Architectural Team headed by Principal Architect, Tony Materne and highly renowned Heritage Architect, Jason Pruszinski.
The concept plans and rationale for what will be the transformation of two of Gawler’s most iconic heritage listed buildings - the Gawler Town Hall and Institute Building - were presented on the evening. Community members also had the opportunity to ask a range of questions in regard to the Gawler Connect Project.
All questions and responses from the evening are listed in the document below.
Further to the contributions made at the Community Information Session, written submissions are welcome.
