Being South Australia's first country town, Gawler has accumulated a magnificent collection of historic artefacts that have local, state and national importance. Town of Gawler is currently undertaking major infrastructure changes in order to facilitate appropriate future presentation. Denise Schumann's talk should not be missed.

Gawler Branch, National Trust of SA.   Gawler Migration Book Public Pre-Release
Meet the author. Public pre-release of the Gawler migration book This'll Do with stories of the Eastern European migrants of 1948, and the UK migrants of 1956 who were accommodated at the Willaston Football grounds. Copies of the book will be available for sale.

Gawler South grew rapidly after the Gawler-Adelaide rail line opened in 1857. Find out about the three hotels, May Brothers and Robinson foundries, flour mill, transport and other local enterprises, and the building styles of the many 19th century homes built with local materials...and a few surprises.

Gawler Environment & Heritage Association. Gawler's E H Coombe Walking Tour
EH Coombe MP used his position to champion social causes including temperance, votes for women and to help those of German heritage persecuted during WWI. He opposed conscription and the closure of Lutheran schools. This tour commemorates his life in Gawler. Guides: Patricia Booth (Coombe descendent) and historian Helen Hennessy.
