Septic Tanks
Some areas within the Town of Gawler are not connected to SA Water's mains sewerage system. These include parts Gawler East, Gawler West, Reid, Evanston, Hillier, Evanston Gardens, Evanston South, Evanston Park, Kudla and Kalbeeba. Properties not serviced by mains sewer must apply to install an on-site waste water treatment and disposal system (i.e. a septic tank, aerobic wastewater treatment system or sand filter).

Application to install
Under the Waste Control Regulations of the Public and Environmental Health Act 1987 an application must be made to Council, for approval to install or alter a waste control system. For the current fee structure please contact an Environmental Health Officer Tel. 08 8522 9235.
