The collection yield from the kerbside system is
3.9kg per household per week, which is similar to
the previous year. This indicates that the kerbside
collection service is being well utilised. The
increase in refunds for CDL product (bottles, cans,
etc) has had an impact in quantity of recyclables
placed out for collection.

The average yield of 7.9kg per household per
week is a good result considering the relatively dry
year. Organics material contributes significantly to
the percentage of material recovered from landfill.
A total of 41.56 per cent of households in the
region participate in this voluntary collection where
residents register for the service and provide their
own MGB.
Member Council participation levels in the garden
organics collection service are:
Gawler 3,810 households (41.49 per cent)
Playford 6,519 households (18.80 per cent)
Salisbury 30,538 households (56.06 per cent)
