Community Art Exhibition Spaces
The Town of Gawler recognises that the Arts provide an opportunity for Council and the community to be engaged and collaborate for social change and growth, while having an ongoing positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of the community.
Provision of display space for the Exhibition of Art in multiple Council venues within foyers, communal areas, meeting or conference rooms and halls, allow for Community Art Exhibition. For this purpose, Council has a 'Gallery System' installed in some venues, a strong, flexible hanging system, which adapts quickly to changing needs within the appropriate venue. Some venues may also have display casing (or the ability to host 3D works) for exhibition of non-hanging items.
The designated, primary Art Exhibition Spaces for Community Art Exhibitions, in Council venues, are as follows:
Exhibition Space | Hanging Space | Council Venue | Venue Address |
---|---|---|---|
Institute Hall | 44 linear metres | Gawler Civic Centre | First Floor, 89-91 Murray Street, Gawler |
