Free Plant Giveaway

The Town of Gawler in collaboration with Green Adelaide are offering a FREE native plant giveaway!

We have 2000 native plants to give away! Council received funding through the Greener Neighbourhoods Grant funding to support a free native plant giveaway for Gawler Council residents.

A diverse variety of native plants will be available, including smaller groundcovers and shrubs to suit home gardens and verges, as well as larger shrubs and trees, to suit rural properties.

Event #1 – Gawler Makers Market

Our Plants

All plants will be sourced from local native plant nurseries in the region.Plant species selected will:

  • Increase our environment’s resilience to climate change
  • Provide vital habitat for local birds, butterflies, native bees, insects, small lizards and other critters
  • Support our pollinators and the pollination of our plants
  • Provide shade and natural cooling
