2025 Native Plant Giveaway and Greening Gawler Incentive Event

Registrations are now open for our annual Native Plant Giveaway!

Across June and July, Gawler Council will be giving away approximately 1000 native tubestock plants across four events. Increasing biodiversity at home, for free, will be as easy as visiting one of Town of Gawler’s nominated events with your rates notice.

Later into the year, Gawler Council will also be leading a Greening Gawler Incentive Event at the annual Gawler Show. Approximately one hundred $30 vouchers for native trees and plants will be gifted to local residents and landowners, to help grow canopy cover and boost biodiversity in our residential neighbourhoods. Limited vouchers available – while stocks last.

Key Details:

  • Town of Gawler has invested $5,000 to support a free native plant giveaway and a ‘Greening Gawler Incentive Program’ for Gawler Council residents and landowners
  • Four plant giveaway events will be held across June and July 2025
  • Priority given to residents who register for the plant giveaway events through Town of Gawler’s website
  • Approximately 1,000 native plants to be given away (*rates notice to be provided on collection)
  • Maximum (5) plants per household, to support minimum 200 households across Town of Gawler

Terms and Conditions

1. 2025 Native Plant Giveaway

  1. Ratepayers of The Town of Gawler Council are eligible to register for (5) free native tube stock plants.
  2. On presentation of the rates notice to Gawler Council, ratepayers will be able to redeem 5 tube stock determined by Town of Gawler.
  3. Plant pick up is only during the four nominated events. Priority given to residents who register for the plant giveaway events through Town of Gawler’s website.
  4. If the full value of the 5 giveaway plants is not redeemed, the remaining value will be forfeited.
  5. The native plant giveaway is limited to 200 ratepaying households and will be issued on a first come first serve basis. The Town of Gawler is not obligated to issue additional tube stock once the allocation has been exhausted.
  6. The Town of Gawler is not obligated to extend the program beyond the 2025 program.

2. 2025 Greening Gawler Incentive Event

  1. Ratepayers of the Town of Gawler Council are eligible to register for (1) $30 voucher for native trees to be planted on their property.
  2. Ratepayers of the Town of Gawler Council with an approved verge landscaping permit, are eligible to register for (1) $30 voucher for native plants.
  3. Voucher collection is only from the Town of Gawler Council’s stall at the Gawler Show.
  4. The 2025 Greening Gawler Incentive Event is limited to 100 vouchers, at a rate of 1 voucher per ratepaying household. Ratepaying households will be issued on a first come first serve basis. The Town of Gawler is not obligated to issue additional vouchers once the allocation has been exhausted.
  5. The Town of Gawler is not obligated to extend the event beyond the 2025 program.
