Main North Road / Tulloch Road Intersection Upgrade
Following receipt of Way2Go Grant funding from the State Government, Town of Gawler has installed two new (emu) school crossings to improve safety in the vicinity of Gawler District College B-12. These crossings have been installed on Barnet Road; one south of Tulloch Road and one north of Tulloch Road.
Adjacent to the Gawler East Link Road Project footprint on Main North Road is another project being undertaken by the State Government’s Department of Planning Transport and Infrastructure – the Main North Road/Tulloch Road intersection upgrade. This project was announced in November 2017 and funding of $7.5 million has been provided by the State Government to signalise the four way intersection of Main North Road, Tulloch Road and Morrow Avenue as well as duplicating Main North Road on approach and through the intersection.
This upgrade will improve safety and efficiency of this intersection for all road users, particularly at peak times of demand from those visiting the Gawler Green Shopping Centre and the Gawler and District College B-12.
The proposed upgrade at the intersection can be viewed here.
As well as the above improvements, the Tulloch Road junction with Barnet Road will be upgraded to include a left turn into Barnet Road and separation of left and right turns out of Barnet Road. Barnet Road will be closed off with a cul-de-sac at its Para Road end as part of the Gawler East Link Road project during its upgrade of the Main North Road/Potts Road/Para Road intersection.
