Gardening Services

The Gawler Home Assist Program offers basic gardening assistance, to help clients remain safe and independent within their own homes.

Gardening services are primarily aimed at preventing older people from doing tasks that might put them at risk and ensuring that home gardens remain in a safe, accessible and habitable condition.

Tasks that may be provided under this service type include:

  • Irregular lawn mowing
  • Minor pruning (excluding trees)
  • Weeding
  • Clearing of walkways and paths

Tasks that cannot be provided include concreting or paving, cutting or pruning of trees and/or rubbish and green-waste removal.

Please note, gardening falls under the Home Maintenance service type requires a referral from My Aged Care.  Home Maintenance services are capped at a maximum of 12 hours per eligible household per financial year.
