The Barossa Regional Procurement Group is a collaborative purchasing initiative between Mid Murray Council, Adelaide Plains Council, The Barossa Council, Light Regional Council and the Town of Gawler. The Regional Procurement Project Officer is responsible for implementation of key collaborative procurement initiatives with the aim of generating cost savings, efficiencies and economic benefits to the region.

The position is jointly funded by the participating Councils and is hosted by the Town of Gawler. As such, the position provides services to all five Councils, including providing Executive Officer support to the Barossa Regional Procurement Working Group. The role includes the coordinating of procurement activities, establishing supplier and Council staff relationships and fostering a collaborative regional approach to procurement best practice. Although the position is hosted by the Town of Gawler travel between other Councils will be required.
