Infrastructure & Engineering

The Town of Gawler’s Infrastructure and Engineering Services Division provides professional engineering services directly to the community with core services being delivered in the areas of:

Appropriate asset management ensures assets (e.g. roads and stormwater networks) are prioritised for upgrade in an orderly manner and replaced to ensure safe provision of infrastructure at the intended service level.

Traffic Management services are provided to ensure the safe and convenient movement of pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles within the Town of Gawler and identify and strategically plan, investigate and implement road safety improvements to the local road network.

Land Development services are provided to assess different types of development applications ranging from new dwellings and commercial businesses to large scale land divisions. These land development services are provided from concept designs of infrastructure and open space areas all the way through to construction and handover of new assets to the Council for on-going maintenance.

The Town of Gawler also provides project management services for many projects from procurement and design through to construction. Some of these projects include annual road reseals with new asphalt, new kerbs and footpaths, new playgrounds, public art sculptures and strategic projects such as the Gawler and Surrounds Stormwater Management Plan and Biodiversity Management Plan.
