The Fund My Neighbourhood Program was a participatory budgeting program that gave South Australians the power to nominate and vote for projects to improve their neighbourhoods. $20 million was allocated for the 2017/18 financial year and saw 15 projects with a total value of $982,948 funded within Gawler, representing 24% of the total funds available in the Adelaide Northern Region. The program garnered significant community interest with 37 local projects progressing to the online voting stage and 2856 votes being lodged for these projects.

Council plans to write to the State Government to express its support for a similar program in the future and is seeking community feedback on the program including:

• Strengths and weaknesses
• Suggested improvements

Consultation is now open and closes at 5.00pm on Friday 21 September, 2018.
