The Town of Gawler recognises that the provision of recreation services and facilities is vital to improve community health and the social wellbeing of our residents. Council engaged with the community to contribute towards the planning of current and new services and facilities to meet identified needs.

Two community planning sessions were held - the first focusing on sports and aquatic facilities and the second focusing on community recreation, open space and the environment.  A community survey was also undertaken in March 2015 to support the development of the Plan.

The Gawler Open Space, Sport and Recreation Plan includes two reports, the Background Report and the Directions Report, which can be found below.
