Participatory Budgeting

To encourage community engagement in Council’s annual budget considerations, Council is again running it’s ‘Participatory Budgeting Initiative’ for the 2023/2024 financial year. Participatory Budgeting is a different way to manage public money and for residents and ratepayers to engage with Council by giving you, the Gawler community, the chance to present your ideas and then vote on how to spend part of a Council’s budget.

To be eligible nominated projects must not exceed $20,000.

We can’t wait to hear what community project you think will benefit the Town of Gawler!

Completed nomination forms must be emailed to council@gawler.sa.gov.au or dropped off at the Gawler Administration Centre and/or the Gawler Civic Centre before 5pm Friday 7 April.

Key Dates for the Participatory Budgeting:

• Nominations open Monday 13 March 2023
• Nominations close 5pm, Friday 7 April 2023
• Voting opens Monday 1 May 2023
• Voting closes 5pm, Monday 22 May 2023
