Construction is progressing on Council’s 2026/27 New Footpaths Program, with works on Dawson Road now approximately 50% complete. The works extend between Bus Stop 165 (near Clark Road) and the Adelaide–Gawler Rail Line pedestrian crossing, just south of the Gawler Bypass Overpass (near Dysart Road), with further locations scheduled to commence throughout the financial year as part of the adopted Capital Works Program (sites listed below).

The New Footpaths Program delivers new pedestrian infrastructure to improve the safety, accessibility, and connectivity of Council's walking network. By providing continuous, accessible pathways, the program enhances pedestrian access to public transport, schools, parks, and other community facilities, while encouraging active transport and improving overall pedestrian safety. The side of the road to recivee the new footpath is determined onsite, taking into consideration site constraints.
