In addition, our Web site tracks information about the visitor's to our Web sites so that we can compile statistics that show the daily number of visitors to our sites and the daily requests we receive for particular files on our Web sites. These aggregated statistics are used internally to better provide our services to you.

Social Media Screen Capture

Council reserves the right to record any comments, images or otherwise posted to its social media pages (see more on our Social Media House Rules here). The recent High Court ruling in Fairfax Media Publications Pty Ltd v Voller; Nationwide News Pty Limited v Voller; Australian News Channel Pty Ltd v Voller (2021) means publishers, more than ever, need to protect themselves against any defamatory third-party material posted on its social media pages. For this reason, Council may, at any time, capture and keep on record any comments made by third parties to its pages as a protection against any commentary that may later be deemed a litigious matter.
