About the Youth Space
The Youth Space is a welcoming and safe environment for young people aged 12-25. While most programs cater to this age group, specific activities may have age restrictions to ensure participant safety.
The space is designed to offer opportunities for young people to connect, make friends, and explore shared interests.
Term programs are available for those who live, work, study, volunteer, or play sports in Gawler, with additional activities offered during school holidays (Please check individual events for details).
The Town of Gawler recognises the importance of having a member of staff devoted to Youth Development. The Youth Development Officer's focus is to:
- Encourage and facilitate young people’s participation in community life.
- Provide ongoing support and development of the Gawler Youth Advisory Committee ensuring relevant issues are referred to them for their advice and Council is informed of their views.
- Plan and deliver events which recognise and celebrate young people’s achievements.
- Promote information of interest to young people about services, facilities and opportunities.
- Assist with planning and development of policy and resources that advance opportunities for young people.

The Youth Space is located on the mezzanine level of the Gawler Civic Centre, 89-91 Murray Street, Gawler.
The Youth Space programs run during the school terms and school holidays; program dates vary; please refer to individual programs for further information.

The programs will be run by Council Staff and other youth service providers. Programs will be supported by Town of Gawler Volunteers and placement students with appropriate screening and training.
There are two things you need to do:
- Complete a 'First Time Youth Space Membership Form' or a 'Renewal Membership Form' by using the below link. This form covers a calendar year. This form is only completed once each year. It gathers the important information we need to keep young people safe. This requires a responsible adult's signature for anyone under the age of 18. Membership Forms

As much as possible we will provide programs at no or low cost. This will be clearly highlighted for each program.
