Our Toy Collection is open for borrowing whenever the Evanston Gardens Library is open.
Our toy collection offers families an affordable and sustainable way to support your child’s development. With a wide range of carefully selected toys suitable for different developmental stages, you will be able to introduce age-appropriate toys without the cost or clutter of purchasing new items. The toys in our collection encourage creativity, problem solving, and imaginative play.
Toys can only be borrowed from Evanston Gardens Library and must be returned to that library.
Opening Hours
The Toy Library will be open whenever the Evanston Gardens Library is open.
Monday 9am - 12pm
Tuesday & Wednesday 2pm - 5pm
Thursday 10am - 1pm
Friday 9am - 12pm
Membership
To set up a Toy Library Membership, please see library staff. Membership fees are $45 per year for a family membership or $75 per year for an organisational membership.
Members can borrow 8 items at a time. Toys can be borrowed for 4 weeks, and can be renewed twice before they must be returned. Toys cannot be placed on hold.
Toys are checked for completeness by library staff prior to being shelved. Borrowers should check toys at home as soon as possible after borrowing, to ensure all items listed on the label are present. Please notify library staff if you find an incomplete toy. Toys should be returned complete and in good condition, in their original packaging. Toys returned damaged or with missing parts may attract a replacement fee.
We do not provide batteries for toys. Toy labels will indicate the type and number of batteries required, and borrowers can insert their own batteries in toys that they have on loan. All batteries should be removed before toys are returned.
A complimentary cart is available to transport large or awkward toys to your vehicle. Please remember to bring the cart back into the library.
Donations
We are not accepting donations at this stage. We will consider donations of quality toys in good condition once we have established the collection fully.
