Council has been advised this morning that due to the weather forecasted for this weekend, the Apex Club of Gawler has made the tough decision to cancel the 2023 Gawler Carols.
“Apex have stood tall to make a difficult decision, however I know our community will understand and support them.” said Mayor Karen Redman.
Council acknowledges the ongoing hard-work and effort that all our community groups undertake in planning and delivering events and activities like this for everyone to enjoy.
“We support the Apex Club of Gawler. We are very disappointed that this event cannot proceed, but we know it’s the right decision based on the forecasted rain and wind.” said Acting CEO Andrew Goodsell.
The last time the carols was cancelled was in 2020 due to the potential risks to public health posed by COVID-19.
