Please be advised that the upgrade of the Toilet facilities is scheduled to commence on Monday 13 April 2026
The works will be completed in 2-stages:
Stage 1: Female Toilets and Toilets adjacent to the Youth Shak
Stage 2: Male and accessible toilets
Staging the works ensures that an accessible toilet is always available inside the Centre. Three portable toilets will be installed during this time close to the building for the convenience of the centre users. Floor protection will be installed from the front entrance through to the toilet facilities whilst these works occur.
Planned works include:
- Changes to the current layout to optimize space and align with modern legislative accessibility standards and requirements
- Demolition and construction work of male, female and accessible toilets
- Conversion of one accessible toilet into a Parent’s room
- Replacement of tiles (wall and floor); fixtures; toilet partitions; and benchtops
- Upgrades/modifications to existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing services
The aim of the project is to renew the toilet facilities of the building and provide value to the community by:
- Give patrons of the centre a refreshed, modern toilets block that meets the needs of patrons and aligns with modern accessibility standards and legislative requirements
- Ensure the building meets the life cycle renewals for the infrastructure
Sport and Community Centre will be operational and available for use during the construction works except for toilets undergoing works. While we endeavour to cause minimal disturbance to the users, please expect some noise during the demolition and construction works.
Please note that the practical completion date may change based on unexpected weather conditions and latent building conditions that can only be discovered upon demolition works.
