Pirrku Explorers is a social session with a range of educational activities suitable for children approximately 2 - 7 years and their carers. On the first Friday of each month we explore a new theme, discover something new and make friends playing along the way. The Kaurna word for story is pirrku and Pirrku Garden is the name of the garden area we are establishing at the Evanston Gardens Library.

This program takes place (weather depending) outside in the newly established Pirrku Garden at the rear of the Evanston Gardens Library. The area has dappled shade so we recommend hats and sunscreen. If the weather is not suitable we will relocate inside the library.

The Pirrku Garden project has received funding from the Department of Education's Local Government Early Childhood Community Innovation Grant administered by the Local Government Association of South Australia. Views and findings associated with this project are expressed independently and do not necessarily represent the views of the Government of South Australia or the Local Government Association of South Australia.

PIrrku Explorers

A fun, hands-on discovery of science where children can experiment, investigate, and explore their natural curiosity .

Young children have an innate sense of curiosity about the world, constantly asking “Why?” at life’s many wonders. Families are invited to join us as we discover the world of science. Using the Little Bang Discovery Club programs, children 's natural inquisitiveness is encouraged with experiments to conduct. A handout for more at-home experiments is available each session.

These sessions are aimed at children 4 - 8 years. Younger children will require additional adult assistance. Home school families are invited to attend. For more information or to book a ticket go to our Humanitix Page
