Gawler Welcomes Recreational Vehicles

The Town of Gawler is proud to welcome Recreational Vehicles (RVs) into our beautiful town.

There are short-term street parking options and a long-stay car park for RVs that are conveniently located close to the Gawler main street.

Short-Term Parking

• Adjacent to the entrance to the Gawler Caravan Park (4 hours) - 7 Main North Road, Gawler
• Gawler Visitor Information Centre carpark (4 hours) - 2 Lyndoch Road, Gawler

Long -Stay Parking

The long stay car park is located on Murray Street South and offers RV parking for up to 48 hours. This site offers a convenient and welcoming stop for visitors, directly adjacent to Council's shared path network that meanders alongside the South Para river.

The Murray Street South RV site can comfortably accommodate up to a dozen RVs at any one time, depending on their size. It's the perfect spot to park and explore all that Gawler has to offer. While there isn't a booking system – it's first in, best dressed – our Community Safety Officers actively monitor the site to ensure fair usage and prevent overstays, allowing everyone a chance to enjoy their stay in Gawler.

Overnight parking at the Murray Street South site is only allowed in self-contained RVs. Stays are not to exceed 48 hours and the following are not permitted:

• Tenting
• Camping
• Sleeping in Cars
• Fires
• Disposal of Waste or Rubbish
• Use of Power Generators

There are no Dump Points at the Murray Street South site. If you require a Dump Point, one is available at the Gawler Gateway Tourist Park (3134 Main North Road, Evanston South) - free for guests of the park or $5 for casual users
