Address: Princess Street/ Redbanks Road,  Willaston

Type: Council

Status: Completed

Council’s upgrade of Ayling and Dwyer Lime Kiln Park will deliver an exciting, all-inclusive playspace to support increased participation, socialisation and active recreation for all ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds. Championing key principles of Council’s Playspace Strategy, this new inclusive and accessible playspace will deliver an environment sensitive to the needs of all users; providing a welcoming place where people feel comfortable yet challenged and removing obstacles and barriers preventing people from participating. Utilising universal design principles will provide parallel play and social interaction opportunities to bring people together.

Equally important is the delivery of a new irrigation system, which support efficiencies in water use and management in line with key principles of Council’s Climate Emergency Action Plan and Irrigation Design Standards. Council’s upgrade of Ayling and Dwyer Lime Kiln Park commenced in 2023-2024 with the delivery of the Playground design, with construction works to be undertaken in 2024-2025.
