Seeking Feedback – Princess Street Playground Upgrade
Have your say on the upgrade of Princess Street Playground!
What's happening
Located on the corner of Princess Street and Redbank’s Road in Willaston, Princess Street Playground is a very popular site for our local families. As the existing play equipment has reached the end of its useful asset life, Council is investing in an upgrade which seeks to both improve the well-loved playspace we already have, and also make sure it is more inclusive, accessible and fun for everyone.
To help us get it right, we want to hear from you! In line with Town of Gawler’s Playspace Strategy, Council is prioritising a community centred approach to planning for play, by inviting people of all ages and abilities to participate in the preliminary planning and design process. Your thoughts and feedback will be used to inform two concept designs, which will be developed later this year and then launched for a second round of community engagement in 2024.
Delivery timeline
The upgrade of Princess Street Playground will be staged over two financial years. Design and community engagement will continue throughout 2023/2024 and then construction will commence in 2024/2025, pending the adoption of Council’s Annual Business / Budget Plan 2024/2025.
