Business Innovation Hub
Oil Pastels & Acrylics

  • Tineta will be displaying over 60 pieces of artwork depicting animals (realism) in oil pastels and also in pop art style acrylics.
  • Having no visual memory is quite a challenge for an artist!! Tineta starts each piece knowing only the medium/technique she will use, as she cannot pre visualise anything, and experience each work as it develops before her eyes. In the past 12 months Tineta has discovered techniques she can adapt which make detailed, 'real' animal portraits possible - a very satisfying breakthrough! This exhibition, entitlted 'Here's Looking At You', features these techniques in 68 new works of animals (dogs, cats, pocket pets, farm animals and birds) using either oil pastels (realism) or acrylic paints (mainly in pop art style).

All welcome. RSVP only required for Official Opening

Here Comes The Sun Show POSTPONED

Here Comes The Sun: Beatles Tribute by Rachael Leahcar

Friday 27 November, 8.00pm - Institute Hall, First Floor, Gawler Civic Centre

Given the recent return to COVID-19 capacity restrictions (1 person per 4 square metres, rather than 1/2m2) the uncertainty and concern around health risks of large public gatherings and to ensure the safety of our staff, community and artists, the ‘Here Comes The Sun: Beatles Tribute by Rachael Leahcar’ show (Friday 27 November) has been postponed.

The Gawler Civic Centre will be working to reschedule the performance at another time.

Anyone who has already bought tickets to the performance will be provided with ticket refunds ASAP. For those who purchased tickets online through Eventbrite, a full refund (or credit) will be issued automatically to the card you used in your purchase. For those who purchased tickets at a Council venue, a full refund will be issued to your nominated bank account ASAP – we’ll be in touch separately to this message with instructions.

The team at the Gawler Civic Centre apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We’ll be in touch with you all when a confirmed rescheduled performance date has been set and invite you to purchase new tickets to see Rachael and her Band.

Thank you and take care.

Rachael Leahcar pays tribute to The Beatles, performing songs from her album ‘Here Comes The Sun’ and many more, to celebrate more than 50 years of legendary music! All your favourites including Let It Be, Here Comes the Sun, Blackbird, I Am The Walrus, Hey Jude, All My Loving and the rest of the best of the Beatles to warm up your pipes and get the toes tapping!

Rachael Leahcar smashed Australian television records and was nominated for TV Moment of the Year in the AACTA Awards when over 4 million people tuned in to watch her Blind Audition on the first season of The Voice in 2012.
With a career that has seen her release five top 10 charting albums, win a South Australian Music Award, procure her own star on Adelaide Festival Centre’s Walk of Fame and travel to Italy to sing with Andrea Bocelli’s orchestra, Rachael has shown that she is capable of achieving anything despite being legally blind.
In 2020, she has started studying a Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education, along with shows and live streams on her social media. She believes that helping others is the most important thing she can do for the world and she strives to do this through her music and public speaking.
