The Town of Gawler invites expressions of interest (EOI) from suitable operators, for short-term or single-day operation of the Gawler Civic Centre Café space.

Café Kitchen and Seating spaces are on the ground floor of the Centre, forming part of the open space atrium area, opposite the Library’s main entrance. The Café Kitchen has basic equipment for café style food and beverage service, as well as simple catering.

We welcome interest from community groups, organisations, local businesses, caterers, or individual operators who can provide basic café services such as barista coffee or coffee and light meal services. We are open to single-day operations or short-term arrangements for the Café and Kitchen spaces. Presently, these areas are unoccupied with Council in the process of determining the future, ongoing operation model for these spaces.

PLEASE NOTE:  This is an Expression of Interest only with all requests considered based on interest received.

Council will provide:

• Kitchen Area – Oven & Rangehood, Stainless Steel Benches, Sink, Dry Store
• Service Counter, Double Door Fridge, Refrigerated Cake Display Cabinet, Small Pie Warmer
• Café Seating Area – Tables and Chairs
• Access to electricity, gas, and water onsite

Short-Term or Single-day Operators to provide:

• Any electrical equipment required for use to be test and tagged prior to use
• Any advertising or promotion eg. banners, flyers, etc
• Provision of all foodstuffs and ingredients in relation to use of the spaces
• Clean and tidy space when operation ceases for the day
• FBN Number
• Public Liability Insurance

EOI’s should address the following:

• Respondent’s experience in the food and beverage industry
• Compliance with health and safety regulations relating to food service
• Types of food, beverages and/or services proposed to be delivered
• Proposed operating hours, days, and period
