Mayor Karen Redman has announced the winners of her Christmas Card Competition for 2023!

The winners of the 2023 Mayor's Christmas Card Competition have been announced.

On Monday 6 November all placegetters, family members, carers, and school representatives joined Mayor Karen Redman at an Awards Ceremony held in the Institute at the Gawler Centre Civic Centre.

Each winning student receives:

  • A certificate
  • A framed print of their artwork
  • A set of their own cards
  • A gift voucher for Big W

Each winning school receives:

  • Book packs for their School Libraries
  • A pack of cards with the artwork for each winning child from their school

All winning entries from the Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition will be printed onto Christmas Cards with the student’s name, year and school printed on the inside of the card.

Mayor Redman thanked all the young people who entered the competition and for the community support for the 2023 Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition. This year, 502 young artists entered the competition.

Entries will be displayed at council sites and in the main street of Gawler throughout the Christmas season and will remain on display at the Gawler Civic Centre from 6 November 2023 until January 2024.

Congratulations to all of the wonderful little artists involved in the competition, it was another wonderful year with lots of creativity and Christmas spirit seen by all those who entered.

2nd Prize – Ellie Foskett - Year 1 – Trinity South

1St Prize – Ella Holloway - Year 1 – Gawler East Primary

Second Category – Years 2 to 3

3rd Prize – Aria Howard – Year 3 – Immanuel Lutheran School

2nd Prize – Layla Smith – Year 3 – Xavier Evanston

1st Prize – Sophia Dato – Year 3 – Gawler Primary School

Third Category – Years 4, 5 and 6

3rd Prize – Cara Sykes – Year 5 – Gawler East Primary

2nd Prize – Harriet Faast – Year 4 – Trinity South

1st Prize – Paige Crook – Year 6 – Immanuel Lutheran School
