Elected members and Council staff have worked together to review and update the existing Gawler Community Plan 2014-2024 in order to produce a clear set of strategic priorities moving forward.

The Gawler Community Plan 2014-2024, which established the existing five key themes of Identity, Growth, Environment, Community and Leadership, was developed following the release of the ‘Picture This’ discussion paper over an 8 week consultation period and a series of public workshops in 2013. This document is Council’s principal strategic document, and been used to guide Council’s decisions in relation the allocation of resources over the last 3 years.

Gawler is a fast growing and ever changing regional service centre. Due to this significant change in Gawler and the surrounding regions over the last 3 years it was considered appropriate for Council to review and update the Gawler Community Plan to ensure its strategic directions still reflected community aspirations.

The Town of Gawler released its Draft Gawler Community Plan 2017-2027 for a six week community consultation period from 24 July 2017 until 1 September, 2017.
