Disability Access and Inclusion Plan

The aim of the DAIP is to improve access for all and increase the number of opportunities for people with disability that live, work, play, volunteer and visit the region.

The Disability Access and Inclusion Plan includes two main components (attachments below):

  • The Barossa, Light and Lower North Regional Disability Access and Inclusion Plan; and
  • The Town of Gawler Disability Access and Inclusion Plan.

The Town of Gawler Action Plan will ensure that our community becomes more accessible and inclusive of people living with disability. It will help people within the community that are living with a disability to contribute to the Town and feel welcome, have access to services, visit local businesses and open public spaces, and participate in everyday activities.

In developing these documents a range of community engagement workshops took place and a community survey conducted. Feedback collected from the community via the workshops and survey has informed the development of the Plans.

The two documents are now open for community comment. You can make an online submission or ask a question via the tabs below. Alternatively, written submissions can be sent to: Community Development Officer, Town of Gawler, PO Box 130, Gawler SA 5118.
